One-year Cadbury Research Library AM individual subscription
Before you complete the application form, please read the introduction and guide on the University of Birmingham: Cadbury Research Library website. Please also read the below eligibility criteria and terms and conditions, which explain who may apply and how to apply.
The data collected on this application form will be processed by AM in accordance with AM's privacy policy. User Personal Data on customers is normally retained for seven (7) years after the last recorded interaction with AM.
Please read through each section and enter your answers in the boxes.
1. Eligibility criteria
Applicants for a Cadbury Research Library AM individual subscription:
a) should be at least 18 years old
b) should be intending to use AM products Church Missionary Society Archive and Church Missionary Society Periodicals to find documents or published works relating to the history of their own local area, country or culture
c) should be willing to share feedback on their experience of a free, one-year subscription
d) should not be a member of the University of Birmingham or any other institution that subscribes to the AM products Church Missionary Society Archive or Church Missionary Society Periodicals
e) should not be able to visit the Cadbury Research Library, University of Birmingham, or any other institution that subscribes to AM products
f) should not have had a Cadbury Research Library AM individual subscription before.
2. Terms and conditions of use
If your application is successful, you will need to abide by the terms and conditions listed below.
a) Cadbury Research Library AM individual subscriptions give 12 months' free access to AM products Church Missionary Society Archive and Church Missionary Society Periodicals for individual, personal use only.
b) Subscription holders may share with a colleague, in hard copy or electronically, no more than 5% [five percent] of each individual title in the products that the username and password give you access to. Material shared in this way must only be for personal use or scholarly, educational or scientific research.
c) Subscription holders must comply with all applicable laws and the conditions and terms of use as set out on the AM website under Terms of Use.
d) Subscription holders must not use Church Missionary Society Archive, Church Missionary Society Periodicals, or anything else on the AM website, in a manner which infringes third party copyright.
e) Subscription holders wishing to publish extracts from the material are responsible for ascertaining the ownership of copyright and obtaining the necessary permission.
f) Subscription holders wishing to make any published use of the material must acknowledge AM as authors of material on the website. They must also acknowledge any other contributors.
g) Subscription holders wishing to reproduce any portion of, or use any information derived from Church Missionary Society Archive or Church Missionary Society Periodicals must first write to seek permission from the Cadbury Research Library (email: special-collections@contacts.bham.ac.uk) and the Church Mission Society (email: maddy.peston@churchmissionsociety.org).
h) Subscription holders must not use any of the material in a manner which is defamatory, libellous, obscene or otherwise unlawful.
i) Personal data on living persons must not be processed to support measures or decisions with respect to particular individuals.
j) Personal data on living persons must not be processed in such a way that substantial damage or distress is, or is likely to be, caused to any data subject.
k) Subscription holders must not modify the content (including copyright notices) or make derivative works from the AM products Church Missionary Society Archive and Church Missionary Society Periodicals, or any part of the AM site, without prior written permission of AM.
l) All AM content is for non-commercial use only.
m) Subscription holders must not reproduce, share or distribute any content for re-sale, nor reproduce or distribute the material in any way that is unlawful.
n) Subscription holders must keep their username and password in a secure place.
o) Subscription holders must not allow anyone else to use the username and password.
p) Subscription holders must let AM know straightaway if they become aware of anyone else accessing or using their password as they will be fully responsible for any activities that occur under their username and password.
3. By ticking the boxes on the form, you:
a) declare that you are eligible for a Cadbury Research Library AM individual subscription according to the criteria set out in 1) a)-f)
b) you have read, understood, and agree to comply with the terms and conditions listed above in 2 a)-p)
c) wish to apply for a 12-month, free, individual Cadbury Research Library AM individual subscription
d) agree to make use of any personal data contained in Church Missionary Society Archive and Church Missionary Society Periodicals in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation 2016
e) understand that you shall become responsible for compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation 2016 in relation to any processing by you of personal data obtained from the above AM products
f) confirm that your research will not be used to support measures or decisions with respect to particular individuals and will not cause, or be likely to cause, damage or distress to any person who is the subject of this data while they are alive or likely to be alive (assuming a life span of 105 years)
g) shall not make the results of your research available in a form which identifies any data subject without the written consent of the data subject and the data controller
h) will not reproduce any portion of, or use any information derived from, Church Missionary Society Archive and Church Missionary Society Periodicals without first obtaining the permission in writing of Cadbury Research Library (E: special-collections@contacts.bham.ac.uk) and the Church Mission Society (E: maddy.peston@churchmissionsociety.org) and any other rights holder
