Our business support functions take care of all our office needs and interact with everyone in the company, keeping our administrative processes and office infrastructure in good order. Our Finance team is well established and supports the business with making payments, facilitating with licencing fees and assisting managers to make strategic financial decisions. As the company has continued to expand, the HR team has sustained a proactive style to working with managers and our employees alike.
A Day in the Life: Management Accountant
Since joining Adam Matthew in 2016, my role as Management Accountant has been very diverse. The duties can vary from assisting the annual Audit, to checking invoices. One part of my role comprises of managing the costs associated with creating each of our fascinating collections. This entails working meticulously with the Editorial Managers and Project Leads. Alongside this, I am responsible for compiling finance data to complete the monthend accounts, of which are ultimately presented to our parent company, SAGE Publications. Leading on from this monthly task, I am required to pull together the Statutory accounts on a yearly basis. I am also heavily involved in the annual budget setting process, working closely with all departments at Adam Matthew. My daily routine can involve around analysing data, updating cashflows, inputting journals and many areas in between. Thus, creating a varied and exciting role within the Finance team!
I joined Adam Matthew in 2016 as Personal Assistant and provide administrative support to our Directors, and our Sales Teams, including the organisation of global travel arrangements, scheduling meetings and planning company events. Having gained an undergraduate degree in English Literature just prior to joining the company, I have found the literary and historical gems in all Adam Matthew resources to be a joy to work with. It is such a pleasure to feel part of a strong community, and work with people who absolutely love what they do.
